Poor Ryoga. He has no sense of direction, and can't even walk a straight like without getting himself lost. No wonder he's known as The Eternal Lost Boy. But perhaps it's thanks to his wandering that Ryoga has become such a competent martial artist: he is extremely powerful, has great stamina, and is a match for Ranma himself, who he views as his greatest rival.
And Ryoga Hibiki has many reasons to hate Ranma Saotome. Not only did the pig-tailed martial artist repeatedly steal his favorite bread during middle school, but Ranma even had the nerve to run away from their man to man fight! The fact that Ranma waited five days at the appointed meeting place--the place right behind Ryoga's house--is unimportant. What matters is that on the sixth day, the day Ryoga finally managed to find his way there, Ranma had already left.
While searching for the cowardly jerk, Ryoga managed to find himself in China and at Jusenkyou. And who should knock him into one of those many cursed springs (unbeknownst to him) but the very person he was searching for! Now, not only is Ranma responsible for running away from their honorable fight, but (even worse) he's responsible for the horrifying curse Ryoga received in China--a curse which now forces him to turn into a cute, helpless, little black piglet. (Also known as P-Chan).
As if Ryoga's life wasn't already depressing enough: Ranma's even engaged to Akane Tendo, the girl Ryoga (secretly and not so secretly) loves. But Ryoga has a secret that Akane can never find out: he's actually P-Chan, Akane's cute pet pig.
Eventually, however, Ryoga meets Akari, a girl who loves pigs, and who just happens to learn about his curse--and more importantly, likes him even more because of it! From that point on, Ryoga is constantly in turmoil as he tries to choose between Akane and Akari...
Of course, that doesn't stop him from still challenging Ranma as often as he can--and trying to get revenge for the hell his greatest rival has put him through.
